Apps We Love for Education
Printing of letters and numbers - Wet, Dry Try
Sesame Street - great for letter recognition games
Bugs and Buttons - literacy and mathematics games
Minecraft (creative mode) - is great for development of spatial awareness
PicCollage - One of my favourites for taking pictures and writing about them. If children take pictures of things that are important to them if you write their sentence, they can continually refer back to it and hopefully start to read it and recognize sight words because it is their own words.
Explain Everything - In this app you can import pictures and then have your child print the narrative that goes along with the picture. It is a great way to practise writing and printing skills. It will also import videos.

Parent Information Resources
I came across this article about writing development and thought it would be helpful for you as parents to get a better idea of how your child is progressing in his/her writing development and also how you can help them as they develop.
